Sierra Nevada Resort:
The ski area is split between four zones. Borreguiles has an area of 2.675m². Borreguiles is the main starting point. There is a large beginners area and the rest are slopes for all levels, intermediate long and winding as the Stadium, steep and difficult as the Morillas Zayasski lift or the Granados slope. The Lagoon area of the mares is highly regarded for good skiers: a valley unlike Borreguiles, with long red runs very demanding and few people. After a fall of snow, the chances of fresh snow are excellent. Only for good skiers. Montebajo is a favourite of mid-level skiers. Long and wide slopes, moderate slopes … a paradise for those who like quiet and relaxing resort. The slopes are generally very wide and well marked, with total absence of obstacles. There is something for everyone: beginners wide area, fairly gentle slope length, large number of tracks blue for intermediate, too long and comfortable, and finally areas for experts, red and black tracks.
Ski areas: Preparation of the tracks is usually excellent. Early in the morning early bird skiers find the footprints and tracks perfectly equipped for skiing, thanks to the work of the machines at night. As for the production of snow when it does not come naturally, Sierra Nevada has one of the most complete snow making facilities in Spain, ensuring the snow (always accompanying temperatures) more than 25km of pistes. With regard to the lifts, Sierra Nevada has some of the best facilities in Spain. Two high-capacity cable cars and chairlifts allow several queues are relatively few.
Night Skiing: Sierra Nevada ski resort is the pioneer in the Spanish night skiing. Skiers who visit us can enjoy a really interesting experience, sliding down the track ‘The River‘ under the stars, seeing the lights back Pradollano and lower still in Granada and the peoples of their Vega. Admittedly it’s a little hard to get back the boots, grab your skis and go skiing again, especially if the end of the day ‘day’ we have given a warm and relaxing shower, we ate and we are comfortably lying at rest. But the truth is worth a try. Normally you can go night skiing on some Saturdays throughout the season. We must acquire a special Forfait not worth that day nor the season. The schedule varies depending on the time course of dark, but is usually from 7am to 21’30h. You can think of at night when the temperature is going to be very low, but really do not notice much difference with a cold day.
